House Draft Rules
East Grand Rapids Amateur Hockey Association (EGRAHA)
Drafting Procedure
1. the Draft will take place in accordance with MAHA rules and regulations with a MAHA Rep present.
2. the teams drafted shall adhere to the formula below on 2nd year players and adjusted accordingly based on the # of players available to the team:
# of players on the team - 16
max. # of 2nd year players - 10
3. each team will select one goaltender in drafting order. Any other goaltenders will go into the general draft and be drafted in order.
4. after each head coach has drawn a # to see when he gets to draft, the drafting order for 3 teams for example would be as follows and for 2 teams adjusted accordingly:
Round 1: 1, 2, 3,
Round 2: 2, 3, 1
Round 3: 3, 1, 2
etc.
6. a Head Coach's kid is protected, and as such, no other kid can be protected. The Head Coach must draft his kid at the agreed upon draft position.
7. brothers or sisters will be appropriately drafted onto the same team unless parents request differently.
8. any player registering after the draft will be placed on the team that was next in the drafting process.
